Sweets for your Sweet: Valentine’s Day Round Up

February 9, 2012

I had a really great recipe to share with you this week. It was going to have cute little hearts on it and everything. Unfortunately it didn’t work out the way I wanted it to (and I suck at decorating), so I’ve gone back to the drawing board. Hopefully I’ll have it all sorted out by next week.

In the meantime you can re-visit some old favorites that I think would be perfect for Valentine’s Day!

Chocolate Bread Pudding For Two

Loads of chocolate, you can make it ahead of time, and it serves two. What could be more perfect for Valentine’s Day?

Dark Chocolate Truffles

Dark Chocolate Truffles
Speaking of chocolate, truffles are about as chocolate-y as it gets. This recipe is for making coconut or Bailey’s flavored truffles (or both).

Cocoa Brownies with Browned Butter

If brownies are more your thing, these brownies are my favorites. They’re easy to make and you can make them even more Valentine’s Day-ish by cutting them out with a heart-shaped cookie cutter. Awwww.

Bacon Chocolate Chip Cookies

Guys love these cookies, but so do girls! Who needs traditional desserts? Anyone with an appreciation for salty / sweet treats will dig these cookies.

Champagne Cream Puffs

Champagne Cream Puffs
I think I recommend these cream puffs for every occasion, but that’s because they’re amazing and because they’re perfect for any occasion that champagne is perfect for, which is pretty much all of them.

Mini Vanilla Bean Cupcakes with Strawberry Buttercream and Strawberry Cheesecake Tartlets

What’s that? You and your snuggle-bunny don’t like chocolate? These lovely pink frosted strawberry vanilla cupcakes and strawberry red cheesecakes ought to fit the bill, then.

(But seriously, are you sure you don’t like chocolate?)

Last but not least, here are some craving-worthy treats from other blogs:

Pink champagne cupcakes for two from Sweet Peony
Blood orange curd-filled beet doughnuts from Use Real Butter
Nutella love letter pancakes from Kitchen Simplicity
Heart Shaped Chocolate Raspberry Cream Cakes by Zoe Bakes
Cherry Chocolate Malt Cookie Sandwiches from Back to the Cutting Board

What a fabulous round-up Teresa! I’m going to try the Vanilla Bean Cupcakes with Strawberry Buttercream. I like chocolate, but I don’t really *love* it; fruit-based desserts are more my thing and these fit the bill for my sweet tooth! Thanks for sharing some delicious recipes!

Aaaand, I’m back to apologize for misspelling your name in my first comment. I have several friends named Theresa and some spell it without the “h”. So sorry!

Wow. It is all so very beautiful I will take one of each please!

Oh good grief. I’m doomed. You had me with the chocolate bread-pudding, but those vanilla bean cupcakes look divine. I probably shouldn’t be looking at these just before I go grocery shopping…

Everything looks so good! I wanted to let you know that I made your Oatmeal Cream Pies yesterday, and they were wonderful. I posted about them on my blog,
